ABOUT ME
As an individual with roots in Vietnam, education in Russia, and residence in the United States, my artistic journey is a tapestry woven from the threads of international living and travel. My passion for art ignited during childhood but blossomed in 2001 when I moved to Moscow to study industrial design. Seven years of academic immersion deepened my appreciation for various artistic disciplines, paving the way for a seamless integration of art into my life.
In 2010, my family and I settled in Washington D.C., where I encountered pivotal moments of reflection, particularly amidst the global turmoil of 2020. Opting to transition from commercial ventures to full-time painting, I found solace and purpose in expressing emotions through art.
My creative process draws inspiration from a myriad of stimuli, from tangible subjects like flowers and landscapes to abstract concepts such as balance and love. Blending impressionistic and expressionistic techniques, I explore the emotive essence of my subjects, often working with oil-based mediums and diverse materials to create multi-layered pieces.
Engaging in exhibitions across the East Coast provided invaluable opportunities for dialogue and self-discovery, leading me to rediscover Vietnamese lacquer as a medium of choice. In 2023, I returned to Vietnam for an immersive journey of artistic exploration, culminating in a solo exhibition in Hanoi titled "Đa Sắc" (Colorful), which received acclaim within the Vietnamese art community.
International exhibitions in Asia, including the BON VOYAGE Freedom & Love International Art Exhibition Edition 3.0 in Indonesia, further enriched my artistic perspective. Honored with the "Best Artwork" award, I found validation and encouragement to continue pushing the boundaries of my creative expression.
Returning to the United States at the close of 2023 marked the beginning of a new chapter in my creative journey, fueled by a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper connection to my artistic identity.
